This month's Pitusa girl is very near and dear to our hearts - she's a May baby so we felt it was only right to let the spotlight shine on her as we spend the entire month celebrating her life! Not only does she have some kick-ass style, but she is probably the sweetest and most genuine young lady that we've had the pleasure of knowing (she's actually a real-life unicorn) and we are so excited to share a little more about her magnificence with you guys... She's been part of the Pitusa Team for quite some time and we simply could not do it without her!
Tell Us A Little Bit About Yourself….
Hi loves! My name is Chantelle, I am originally from upstate NY, I'm 22 years old and I now live in beautiful Ft. Lauderdale, Florida - with my best friend and my fur baby, Macaroni.
Where did you go to school?
I attended LIM College in NYC and received a Bachelor’s in Fashion Merchandising.
How did you begin working at Pitusa?
I had to complete an internship in order to graduate, my best friend was living in Fort Lauderdale so I decided to look into internships here. I stumbled across Pitusa and was offered the position, it was suppose to be a 3 month ordeal and I was going to move back home. But I was offered a full time job and have now been here for the past 2 1/2 years!
What is your favorite aspect of working in fashion?
I always wanted to go into Fashion! Ever since I was in Kindergarten I was obsessed with clothes (no joke.) I would make my sister late to school every day because “I had nothing to wear,”(I guess not much has changed- besides the fact that now I am the only one late LOL)- A closet full of clothes but nothing to wear, my constant dilemma. I would throw temper tantrums if I didn't like my outfit, and my mom would try to bribe me just to get dressed! Did I mention I was in Kindergarten?? Haha
-Anywayy. I think the best part of working at Pitusa is the atmosphere, we are all such a close knit group- who love what we do and who we do it with and that is something you do not see everyday! Pitusa is continuously growing and to know you have a personal impact on that success makes it that much more special!
How do you like to style your favorite Pitusa piece?
Hmm well first I have to pick a favorite which is the hard part! I’m currently obsessed with the Little Beaded Dress, perfect from day to night. It’s super cute with a pair of sneaks and a chambray during the day or perfect with a pair of chunky booties and some fun necklaces for drinks at night! -Definitely a must have!
What is your favorite trend for summer 2016?
I’m really loving the comeback of the choker! There are so many dramatic chunky necklaces that have hit the runway, which is right up my alley!
What's your beauty regimen like?
My regimen is simple. I’m not a huge makeup wearer, besides Mascara. But my two rules are always take your makeup off at night and moisturize!
Are there any items you can't leave home without?
This may be weird but I always have water with me- no matter where I go! I probably drink a gallon of water a day! Other than that chapstick and Angel perfume by Thierry Mugler. One of my girlfriends turned me on to it and I love it- so now I always have a little bottle with me!
If you had to pick one Pitusa style to stay in forever what would it be?
The V-Back!! Probably the most flattering/comfortable item I have ever worn. It's a keeper!
If you could go anywhere in the world right now where would it be and why?
I’m really dying to see Croatia! I have some Croatian heritage in me and it looks so beautiful there!! However me and my best friend are also on a mission to see all 50 states in the US-I’m only at 13, so I have a bit of a way to go!
If you could only take one thing with you to a deserted island what would it be?
Am I allowed to say a strong boy? -Because I don't know how great my survival skills are, someone has to hunt and build my shelter! (Seriously though am I allowed to say a strong boy, lol)
What do you most enjoy doing in your free time?
I love laying out, if I could lay by the pool or on the beach all day, I would! Growing up in upstate NY you definitely don’t have that option, so now I try to take full advantage of it! I also love baking-granted I can only make one thing and that would be chocolate chip cookies-but guaranteed their the best chocolate chip cookies you'll ever have!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
That’s a tough one and honestly I don’t know! I just hope that wherever I am, I’m doing something that makes me happy and that I love. -So I guess similar to where I am at now! :)
